Residence Requirements

Have been absent from the UK for no more than 270 days during the three-year qualifying period.
Hold Indefinite Leave to Remain or Settled Status at the date of application.

Applicants Not Married to a British Citizen

Have been absent from the UK for no more than 450 days during the five-year qualifying period.
Hold Indefinite Leave to Remain or Settled Status for at least 12 months before applying.

In most cases, applicants must also not have been absent from the UK for more than 90 days during the 12 months immediately preceding the application.
